Dr. Sherri Williams
Dr. Williams studies social media, social television and how people of color use and are represented on social media and how people of color and marginalized people are represented in mass media including traditional broadcast news and reality television. Williams conducted groundbreaking research on how images how reality television images of women of color are amplified in social media through the emerging genre of social television she calls black social TV.
Eljeer Hawkins
Eljeer is a community and anti-war activist, born and raised in Harlem, New York, member of Socialist Alternative/CWI for 21 years. He has toured internationally, invited to address audiences from South Africa to Ireland, Brazil to Belgium on the black struggle in the U.S. He has been involved in the recent Black Lives Matter movement and the fight for $15 movement. He contributes regularly to Socialist Alternative Newspaper and socialistworld.net on race, criminal justice, and the historic black freedom movement.
Jawanza Kunjufu
Dr. Jawanza Kunjufu has been a consultant to school districts since 1974. He has authored over 40 books including, Changing School Culture for Black Males, Understanding Black Male Learning Styles, Keeping Black Boys out of Special Education, Reducing the Black Male Dropout Rate, and, 100 Plus Educational Strategies to Teach Children of Color. His work is used in online courses nationwide.
